Junatsukat -tågstrumpor -train socks

It´s Good Friday and till now we have had nice sunshine. I went for long walk this morning with some dog owners and it took a good part of an hour. Then for some minutes ago both cats just rushed in, because:

yes hail and suddently the very blue sky has become  very dark grey.

But what I wanted to tell you and show you was this:

train socks, I found this via some finnish blogs.
There is a very touching and true story behind this baby sock:
In 1940, Finland was at war with the Soviet Union. Kerttu Kylmänen was traveling by train with her 2-month-old daughter. Bombing had destroyed the tracks. They had to wait several hours in the train. Sitting opposite to them was a retired handcrafts teacher. She undid enough of the weaving of her woolen jacket to be able to make a pair of socks for the baby. From then on, Mrs. Kylmänen has made a pair of socks when someone has had anew baby. She have knitted several hundreds of pairs of these socks duringher lifetime.Terttu Latvala continued the tradition, knitting over 200 pairs herself.
Here is a link for the pattern (in english, german, frech, swedich and finnish) of these babysocks.
